- Open your WhatsApp
- Tap on the three dots at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select Settings from the menu that pops up.
- On the Settings page, tap on Accounts.
- In the Accounts menu, select Privacy (As you can see in the above image/screenshot).
- In the Privacy menu, scroll down and select Groups (As you can see in the above image/screenshot).
- On this page, you could select who could add you to the groups; either everyone, or your WhatsApp contacts, or nobody.
- You now have downloaded your contact’s WhatsApp status Video/Photo
When you prevent admins from adding you to groups by using the privacy option, they can still send an invite you to join the group privately. During the invite, you can see a few members name, the group icon and about the group. While you can always get out of the group, choose wisely.
