WhatsApp has submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.20.66. But what features has WhatsApp added in this update?
According to WABetainfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp updates, WhatsApp has released the 2.20.66 beta update. It contains new security features, like the possibility to protect your backup hosted on Google Drive. The feature is in an alpha stage of development. Basically the feature allows to encrypt your backup with a password, so you’re sure that nobody (neither WhatsApp nor Google) will be able to see its content.

As you can see in the below image/screenshot, At the moment we have not other details, but it’s easy to understand that the user might not be able to restore his chat history if he loses the password used to encrypt the database. This option can be turned on/off.
