Confirmed - View Once will be a new Whatsapp Feature
Some important features are coming on WhatsApp and one of them is View Once.
According to WABetainfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp updates, WhatsApp is working on a new feature called View Once and it will be rolled out soon, so the recipient can only open your photos and videos once before they disappear from the chat

As you can see in the above image/screenshot, when the user chooses to send a photo or video, a new option will appear there.
